Job Description
We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join a small, fast-paced team. The candidate will work closely with the Group Management Accountant, responsible for supporting finance operations, analysis, and reporting. You will have responsibility for managing the purchase and sales ledgers across the Group including existing and new debtors (credit control), bank reconciliations, supporting with payroll administration, and other account reconciliation activities.

Key Skills & Experience
· Experience as a Finance Assistant, or similar (essential)
· Excellent use of Excel for accounting to an advanced level (essential)
· AAT qualified (desirable)
· Knowledge of Xero (desirable)
· The ability to adapt to evolving situations and challenges. Open to suggestion, collaboration and able to embrace change
· Excellent time management skills and able to plan, organise, and schedule workloads to hit deadlines
Responsibilities
· Work closely and proactively with the Group Management Accountant to ensure effective cash flow management across Group Businesses
· Manage the Group purchase ledger by consolidating purchase invoices weekly
· Manage the Group sales ledger by producing and distributing sales invoices as and when required
· Credit Control in following up late payments as required and proactively manage the collection of debtors across Group Businesses
· Perform bank reconciliations promptly and clear any reconciling items in a timely manner
· Support the Group Management Accountant with preparation and processing of payroll
· Checking and posting of receipts to accounting systems
· Preparation of statements, Group Business accounts and any other relevant information as required by the finance team or wider business
· Propose, recommend, and implement process and system improvements
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £18,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
