Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Treasury Team as a Finance Officer – Cash and Banking on a permanent basis. You'll be based from our Basingstoke office, Sovereign House, combining home and office working to ensure a positive work/life balance.
The Role
To ensure accurate and timely recording of cash transactions and that strong controls are in place over cash and banking processes.
The role will play a vital role in delivering Cashbook and Banking related services to a large stakeholder base within Sovereign.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining up to date banking controls to ensure audit compliance is adhered to; and ensure all procedures are documented and up to date
- Responsible for completing appropriate bank and cash reconciliations
- Resolving all cash and banking queries on financial systems in conjunction with third party service providers
- To identify and implement continuous improvement and be willing to support the finance transformation by being adaptable and open to change
- Responsible for driving efficiencies within the cash and banking processes
- Assist the wider finance teams on any related issue regarding banking and cash
- To ensure appropriate recording of cash on all UK bank accounts and that these are allocated to the correct entity and ledger
What you'll need
Experience of working in a finance role would be advantageous or ideally with experience of banking activity, however not essential as we can train you and provide support on this. You'll need:
- Strong prioritisation, planning and organisational skills.
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated and confident working under own initiative.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Computer literate, including strong Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Handles pressure of meeting targets and deadlines.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with others.
