CWRT Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust
Location: Coventry (Hybrid, flexible hours, currently trialling 4 day week)
Contract Type: Permanent 34 hours per week
Salary: £30,000-£35,096 + benefits

FINANCE OFFICE JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a brand-new role for CWRT, the Finance Officer will play an essential role in providing support to the Head of Finance through maintaining financial systems, recording, and processing financial information. The successful candidate will deliver at pace reliable and accurate financial data to enable the Leadership Team to make decisions for the future.
Finance and Accounts at CWRT is complex in nature and as such requires an aptitude for technical accounting and an ability to focus on the finer detail for periods of time. Training will be provided for the intricacies of the role however strong finance and accounting skill is essential.
We also welcome applications from candidates wishing to work part-time as the extent of the role can be flexible for the right candidate.
Main Duties:
- Processing of invoices (Sales and Purchase) using Sage50
- Recording of prepayments and accruals including the processing of necessary journal transactions
- Processing bank transfers, receipts, and supplier payments including the required ledger postings.
- Supporting with mandatory returns, reports, and audits
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Management and reconciliation of petty cash
- Updating of key spreadsheets to support financial reporting.
- Updating Sage50 with supplier and customer information
- Updating the BBB Portal for the purpose of guarantee claims
- Updating portals/SharePoint and Dropbox with relevant information to meet contractual obligations.
- Usage of loan management system to verify coding at point of disbursement.
- Produce Month End to Balance Sheet and P&L in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the management of the account’s inbox
- Respond to queries from stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide ad hoc support to the wider team.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- AAT qualified or demonstrably QBE
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical finance/accounts role
- Working knowledge of Sage50
- Analytical thinking and ability
- Good communication skills
- Legal and moral integrity
- Financial Reporting
- Problem-solving ability
- Demonstrable high-level Excel skill
- Ability to show sensitivity and objectivity with confidential information
- Passionate about SMEs and their success
- Diligent with a keen eye for detail
- Self-starter – able to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Ability to remain focused and work with conflicting deadlines and/or priorities
