Finance Assistant
Milestone Infrastructure is the UKs leading highways maintenance contractor. Responsible for the maintenance of over 48000km of roadways and 300,000 streetlighting assets.
2023 has seen sustained period of growth and in line with our ambitious plans to grow even further we are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join the established team looking after the Peterborough and Cambridge contracts.
As the Finance Assistant you will be part of our Cambridge & Peterborough Finance Team who are responsible for capturing all costs associated with Labour, Plant, Material, Overheads & Subcontractor costs at a detailed level and providing reports to the Senior Accountant, Commercial & Design Teams.
Key duties & responsibilities will include:
- Input Labour Timesheets into Causeway Project Accounting & create/provide payslips to Operatives
- Responsibility for monthly Overtime & Out of Hours payments to Staff
- Ensure accurate setup of Jobs and appropriate allocation of staff, in conjunction with Project Managers
- Weekly reconciliation of time and overall responsibility for posting MiTime into our General Ledger System
- Provide reports to Project Managers & Commercial Teams
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities and analysis
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Self-motivated, robust and resourceful
- Strong Financial Skills with relevant accounting experience
- Able to remain focused in a past-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team working
- Capability to manage workload across different IT platforms
- Strong IT Skills including proficiency in MS Office (pivot tables, lookup's, sum if's)
