A not-for-profit organisation, based in Cambridge, seeking a highly motivated individual to join their finance team in order to contribute to the smooth running of their finance department.
As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for the purchase and sales ledgers, as well as assisting with month-end activities and handling basic accounting tasks. In addition, you will be part of a fun and hardworking team that encourages personal development and offers support in obtaining an AAT qualification.

As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for the purchase and sales ledgers, as well as assisting with month-end activities and handling basic accounting tasks. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Post supplier invoices
- Prepare supplier payment runs and one-off payments
- Complete card purchases on behalf of employees
- Import monthly employee expenses into Sage 200
- Raise sales invoices
- Enter bank transactions and reconcile accounts
- Complete month-end trade debtors' and trade creditors' reconciliations
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller as required
Other Responsibilities
- Comply with the Allia Ltd Financial Procedures
- Take part in training and development as required
- Maintain professional working relationships with internal and external customers
- Proactively communicate any issues or findings
- Skills and Qualifications Required
Essential
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks as well as work within a team
- Highly numerate with good attention to detail
- Experience using accounting software
- Competent in the use of Excel and other Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities and initiative
Desirable
- Competent in the use of Sage 200
- AAT full or part qualified (desirable but not essential)
