Real Drinks Group (RDGL) is an award winning drinks distributor and retailer founded in 2005 with extensive experience in beer, wine and spirits and the wider drinks market, working with the best brewers & producers from around the world.
RDGL incorporates Beer Britannia Ltd, a major drinks supplier to all of the UK Off Trade (Supermarkets, Convenience Chains and Route to Market Customers). The Group is the exclusive representive and Off Trade partner for a number of well-known brewers, and a growing number of craft beer, alcohol free brands and spirits producers. RDGL manages all sales and distribution, order capture, fulfilment, and management of supply to the UK Off Trade via Beer Britannia. The Group also has considerable experience in the development and launching of supermarket own label products, which can involve a focus on sourcing hard to find products; complex supply chain and robust technical requirements.
Summary Of Position
The Finance Assistant will support the Financial Controller in a broad range of day-to-day financial duties, and play a key role in the effectiveness of the Finance Department within the business.
This is a pivotal role within the business and supports the links and smooth running between our Commercial, Operations and Finance departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing orders for key account customers including Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and the Co-op within our accounting software and on the customers online portals.
- Checking & processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs.
- Reconciling supplier statements.
- Assisting with the checking & processing of all logistics invoices weekly, and actioning any discrepancies with relevant parties.
- Preparing, uploading and reconciling sales invoices, sales credits, retailer recharges to the system.
- Processing sales and purchase invoices onto Quickbooks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Corresponding with suppliers and customers on a daily basis by email and telephone.
- Dealing with general queries and resolving any issues efficiently.
- Completing periodic duty due diligence checks on suppliers.
- Attending regular meetings with internal and external partners (face to face and via Teams/Zoom)
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years experience in a Finance role or equivalent.
- Invoice and order processing, payment runs, reconciliations, and credit and recharge experience.
- Excellent numeric capability and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills including Excel & Outlook.
- The ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines, and to prioritise and manage workload effectively
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience of working with the Quickbooks accounting software.
- Relevant professional qualifications.
