What you will be doing.
As our Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the Financial Manager, including but not limited to the following tasks:
- Processing & Payments of all invoices, expenses and credit notes and ensuring they are authorised in line with policy on a weekly basis.
- Inputting all payment journals from the bank statement daily.
- Monitoring and controlling direct debit and standing order payments, ensuring that the payments are in line with current mandate and authorized by budget holder.
- Dealing with any external or internal payment queries, liaising with relevant departments, suppliers and/or the bank as necessary to resolve any issues.
- Processing and reconciling staff record orders, petty cash requests and foreign currency advances to staff undertaking business travel.
- Working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure correct general ledger coding is used on all invoices and expenses.
- Supporting the Finance Manager in preparation of month end journals and reconciliations for general ledger accounts relating to accounts payable, including trade creditors, prepayments, accruals, staff benefits and petty cash.
- Credit card reconciliations.
- Providing support in raising timely invoices and credit notes related to the revenue generated.
- Processing Inter-company cost recharges.
- Produce a weekly WIP and Aged Debt report and collaborate with the business on the priorities for the coming week.
- Provide support with managing cash flow forecast.
What we are looking for.
We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate who demonstrates financial and office management skills with a strong attitude to work and adapts to a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and proactive in managing a varied workload. In addition, you:
- Possess experience in a similar role.
- Have some experience in accounts payable and receivables.
- Have experience of managing change and working in a rapidly growing business environment.
- Are experienced with Excel and Word.
- Have Mathematical, Administrative, Prioritization and Analytical skills.
- Pay attention to detail.
- Can detect inconsistencies.
