We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to support all Scotland office accounts payables, receivables and support the Finance Manager with month end close activities.


What you will be doing.


As our Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the Financial Manager, including but not limited to the following tasks:
  • Processing & Payments of all invoices, expenses and credit notes and ensuring they are authorised in line with policy on a weekly basis.
  • Inputting all payment journals from the bank statement daily.
  • Monitoring and controlling direct debit and standing order payments, ensuring that the payments are in line with current mandate and authorized by budget holder.
  • Dealing with any external or internal payment queries, liaising with relevant departments, suppliers and/or the bank as necessary to resolve any issues.
  • Processing and reconciling staff record orders, petty cash requests and foreign currency advances to staff undertaking business travel.
  • Working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure correct general ledger coding is used on all invoices and expenses.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager in preparation of month end journals and reconciliations for general ledger accounts relating to accounts payable, including trade creditors, prepayments, accruals, staff benefits and petty cash.
  • Credit card reconciliations.
  • Providing support in raising timely invoices and credit notes related to the revenue generated.
  • Processing Inter-company cost recharges.
  • Produce a weekly WIP and Aged Debt report and collaborate with the business on the priorities for the coming week.
  • Provide support with managing cash flow forecast.
The role is based in Aberdeen, Scotland, and the incumbent needs to have the right to work and reside in the United Kingdom.

What we are looking for.


We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate who demonstrates financial and office management skills with a strong attitude to work and adapts to a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and proactive in managing a varied workload. In addition, you:
  • Possess experience in a similar role.
  • Have some experience in accounts payable and receivables.
  • Have experience of managing change and working in a rapidly growing business environment.
  • Are experienced with Excel and Word.
  • Have Mathematical, Administrative, Prioritization and Analytical skills.
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Can detect inconsistencies.
