Arden & GEM CSU’s Corporate Finance department is looking for a Graduate Trainee to join our teams based at St John's House, Leicester or Cardinal Square, Derby. This is a training programme where you will complete the Level 7 apprenticeship and is a fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship with the opportunity for a substantive post if you successfully complete the programme.

You will be working with colleagues within Corporate Finance and AGEM Services. You will be supporting on a wide range of financial management activities such as month end accounts preparation, business forecasting and financial planning and analysis, pricing new business opportunities and bids, statutory account preparation and ledger management.
You will be a self-motivated Graduate with a desire to gain a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/CIPFA) and a strong interest in making innovative use of your skills to support the development of services.
Good IT skills, attention to detail and an ambition to gain experience alongside study will be essential. The ability to manage and plan workload to challenging timescales is a must.
This is a 3 year training post, where Arden and GEM CSU will be training an individual to deliver job descriptions for a minimum of two rotations. The individual must be willing to study to an apprenticeship level 7, gaining a professional accounting qualification on completion. The training programme requires the individual to pass exams, in the case where exams and any re-sits are failed, the post will be reviewed. It is envisaged that there will be a minimum of 2 rotations, potentially 3, across the training period, in finance functions within the CSU.

CSU staff are predominantly currently working from home and we anticipate that this will continue . We have occasional (monthly) face-to-face meetings at various locations in the East Midlands.

This means your salary will be as follows
Year 1 (£23,004.80)
Year 2 (£24,774.40)
Year 3 (£26,544.00)
It is intended that there will be at least two rotations:
Management Accounts where the post holder will support the Finance Business Partner in providing information and support to the Executive Team and Heads of Service and be responsible for supporting the provision of accurate financial advice, information and support to budget holders and managers within the organisation.
The second rotation is likely to be within a Financial Accounts team or a Commercial Finance team.
