Role Outline
As the Finance Assistant, you will report into the Management Accountant, responsible for all transactional finance activities across two entities. You will provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to the Finance department. You can be of a junior level who is interested in developing within a small finance team, no experience is fine, but with an interest to study AAT.
Main Responsibilities
- Posting purchase invoices
- Managing the PO system and matching invoices to relevant POs
- Setting up supplier payments
- Managing contact creation in finance system and ensuring compliance with company procedures
- Maintaining purchase ledger inbox and email query resolution
- Posting sales invoices and maintaining billing schedules
- Credit control
- Company credit card reconciliations
- Managing staff expenses
- Reconciling all bank accounts including foreign currency accounts
- Posting and allocating payments to correct supplier and customer invoices
- Assisting with employee’s timesheet completion & review reports
- Assisting with accounting adjustments such as accruals, prepayments & fixed asset management
- Support continuous improvement activities across Finance

Skills and Experience- Essential
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades A-C
- Strong numerical ability, with a minimum of C at GCSE
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills.
- A genuine interest in business and finance
- A willingness to undertake professional development.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to systems.
