We’re now looking for a Finance Assistant to join our finance team. The role is responsible for providing financial and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, accurate reporting. Key responsibilities include cash reconciliations, account receivables and account payable transactions. They also will assist with general finance tasks as required, working closely with our Finance Manager and Finance Director.

Some of your daily responsibilities:
- Management of accounts inbox and processing of invoices
- Manage bank postings and reconcile bank transactions in accounting system, investigating any unreconciled items
- Creation of weekly supplier and employee personal expense payment runs and ad hoc payments.
- Management of accounts receivable, with a focus on working with the retail team to chase retailers for payment and ensuring retail discount invoices are received in a timely manner
- Supporting the retail team with invoicing queries and communications with retailers
- Work with the marketing and operations teams to support any invoice or payment queries
- Support month end processes by posting journals and being responsible for reconciliations, including bank, accruals and prepayments
- Support the year-end audit by pulling required invoices and reconciliations for auditors
- Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC
- Coordinating payroll and preparing salary payments for employees
What we need from you:
- Experience working within a Finance function in a similar role across bookkeeping Incl. purchase and sales ledger) and management reporting duties
- Minimum AAT qualification is preferred though qualification through experience will also be considered
- Ability to take ownership of processes and improve their efficiency
- Desire to implement automation to aid efficiency
- Can work well independently but also as part of a team
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Working knowledge of Xero, Dext and GSuite is desirable
- Experience with payroll and VAT management (desired)
