We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our busy finance team based in Motherwell on a permanent basis. The Finance Assistant is responsible for ensuring vendor invoices are processed and paid in a timely and accurate manner, alongside development opportunities to be involved in other areas of finance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain Accounts Payable ledger
- Perform matching of supplier invoices with PO receipts
- Follow up on price/quantity queries with other departments
- Deal with and resolve queries from suppliers in a timely manner
- Generate regular payment via the online banking system
- Perform regular Supplier Statement Reconciliations, ensuring appropriate actions are taken on reconciling items
- Participate in the month end closing cycle (Posting journal entries, accounts payable reconciliation, GRNI queries).
- Other ad-hoc projects/analysis as required
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Technically competent in computer skills (Microsoft Excel/Word, ERP package)
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar high-volume manufacturing environment is desireable.
