Finance Assistant - Acounts Payable
Reporting To: Accounts Payable Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Work with colleagues in various departments to ensure the efficient, timely approval and payment of supplier invoices.
- Match and process stock invoices whilst working closely with the buying and merchandising departments to resolve issues.
- Be capable and experienced in the use of excel and use it to assist with the effective processing of high volume transactions.
- Use banking software for the payment of invoices by BACS and online banking.
- Perform reconciliations of supplier accounts and ensure any discrepancies are investigated and resolved quickly.
- Ensure deadlines are met for the financial month end.
- Completion of weekly payment runs and month end reports.
The Candidate:
The candidate should have previous experience working in a busy Accounts Payable department. They should be confident and someone who can easily fit into the existing team. You will not only process information but be aware of how our various systems work and integrate with others in the company.
Previous experience working with multicurrency, inventory and freight and duty would be an advantage.
About the location
Neilson Square is the home of our original warehouse and distribution centre, as well as many head office functions. Situated in Livingston, our site is in-between Edinburgh and Glasgow and very easily reached by car and public transport.
