As our Finance Assistant, you’ll report directly to our Finance Manager and work closely with our Financial Controller. You’ll support our team in producing financial reports, generally attacking any data-based task that gets thrown your way. You’ll work in a collaborative way with our team to ensure knowledge is shared and best practice is implemented as part of a continuous cycle of improving the way we work.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Keeping track of our transactions, processing invoices, reconciling bank accounts, owning the accounts payable and supporting with accounts receivable.
- Acting as a point of contact for suppliers and members. You’ll set up suppliers and resolve any issues as they come up in a timely and personable manner.
- Processing member agreements onto our financial system.
- Issuing payment runs and processing expense claims.
- Overseeing the work of our Accounts Apprentice, working with them on a daily basis to ensure accuracy across our financial reporting.
- Completing a cash flow forecast, and supporting with the preparation of financial reports.
We’re looking for someone with killer attention to detail, who’s independent and who takes ownership of their work. You’ll be someone who truly has a desire to grow and develop. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who loves the fact that Runway East is a results-driven company that empowers its team to be entrepreneurial.
Requirements
Who You Are:
- Detail-Oriented - you’ll have amazing attention to detail and consistently demonstrate accuracy in your work. You’ll have the ability to spot a numerical error a mile off, as well as an unhealthy love of excel, of course.
- Organised - you’re able to plan and organise your work so that it is completed efficiently and effectively. You’ve got experience working to deadlines and communicating updates with stakeholders
- Communicator - you’ll have solid communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external - both verbally and in writing
- Proactive - we’re constantly looking for ways to improve our practices and systems, and we want someone who can join us on this mission. You’ll be curious, questioning, be on the look-out for ways to make things better, with proveable experience in diligent, professional and detailed working practice.
- Experienced - you’ve got a minimum of 2 years accounting/bookkeeping experience, ideally within an SME environment.
- Qualified - you’re a newly qualified AAT, or have completed a finance degree

£28,000 - £35,000, depending on experience
