FINANCE ASSISTANT
SALARY: £22,000 (year 1)
The Company:
Realm is a successful asset manager and developer of retail property and specialises in Factory Outlet Shopping Centres such as Clarks Village in Somerset. Realm provides management of shopping centres to its clients who are the owners of such properties and typically pension funds and other large institutional investors.
Realm is one of the largest independent asset and property managers of Factory Outlet Shopping Centres in the UK and currently has five centres under direct management. These include London Designer Outlet located adjacent to Wembley Stadium and Resorts World at the Birmingham NEC. Realm also currently manages schemes in Scotland, Doncaster and Bath. We employ 60 staff across our centres and at our two head offices – one in Cheshire and the other in Street, Somerset where the finance function is based.

With recent new business and a restructuring within our existing team, the company would now like to offer the position as a Finance Assistant.
This position is for fixed term contract for the period of 12 months. [We would hope and expect the successful candidate to be offered a full-time position at the end of the 12 months on competitive terms.]
Overview:
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with your colleagues, you will be responsible for general administration and accounting duties, initially focusing on supplier invoices and the purchase ledger but as you develop you will be working with others across the team and carrying out other administration and accounting work including bank reconciliations and general ledger work.
Responsibilities:
- Processing and entry of supplier invoices into our Property Management and Accounting system
- Setting up and verifying the details of new suppliers
- Preparing payment runs ready for approval and submission to the bank
- Assisting with AP and AR reconciliations
- Preparing Rent Cash Transfer schedules
- Posting Cash to ledgers
- Preparation of wrong account transfers
- Analysis of void utilities
- Setting up annual Purchase Orders
- Working with other colleagues outside of the finance team to assist with their queries and providing advice where necessary
