Job description
We are an innovative social care organisation providing accommodation and support for young care leavers aged between 16-18. We work in partnership with local authority children’s services to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people, and to enable them to acquire the practical living skills measured under ‘Every Child Matters’ framework.
We are based in Harrow and are looking for an experienced and dynamic finance individual to join our team. The position is full time Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week.
The successful candidate should have a minimum education of A level, with knowledge of accountancy or recognised bookkeeping.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive team, and offered a competitive salary and exciting career progression. We would prefer the successful candidate to have a minimum of three years’ experience with a commercial firm.
Key responsibilities
- Knowledge of Xero online software
- Invoicing – creating, sending, and following up on invoices
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Dealing with Council purchases orders and payments
- Credit control
- Liaising with the accountants as and when required
- Petty cash expenditure control
- Internal audit as and when required
- Payroll – have knowledge of Brightpay
- Must have work experience in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
- Ad hoc accounts and administration tasks as and when required
For these duties we are looking for the following:
- Xero online knowledge
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to professionally handle queries/disputes of sales invoices and purchase invoices
- Reconciliation of supplier accounts
- Dealing with council queries both by emails and telephone
