Growers Garden make the best fresh vegetable crisps in the UK, right here from our factory in Cupar. We’re going through an exciting period of growth, with our branded crisps moving into the retail space, whilst our factory stays busy making snacks for other companies too. With around 23 staff, we’re a close knit team, and we’re looking for someone keen and capable to steps into an accounts assistant role and take care of all things finance.

Reporting to the managing director, the role primarily covers managing the company’s transactions and A/R and A/P ledgers, as well as all aspects of reporting, VAT accounting and preparing monthly management accounts. More specific duties include:

· Customer invoicing and management of the A/R ledger

· Purchase invoice processing, matching with PO’s and management the A/P ledger

· Preparation of monthly management accounts – P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and solid commentaries and analyses

· Processing and reconciling bank transactions

· Management of the company cashflow (which, like all businesses, can at times be tight)

· Processing expenses, stock adjustments and other ad hoc journals

· Managing the fixed asset register

· Monthly VAT reporting

· Liaising with auditors and tax advisers at the year end

· Actively drive process improvement and streamlining

All of our key systems are cloud based and paper free (Unleashed, Xero), and experience of using these would be highly advantageous. Supporting the wider Growers Garden team is essential and assistance in areas of stock, planning, sales and production will be needed.

Key Experience :

Accountancy qualification or qualified by experience

Xero (Unleashed experience highly valued)

Ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a close team

Good Excel skills

Strong interpersonal skills and a good communicator

Ability to understand systems (ideally EDI transactions)
