Grafton Banks Finance are working with a rapidly growing commercial business with offices near Lewes, East Sussex to recruit a Finance Assistant on a full time basis. Reporting into the Financial Controller this job will support in the day to day and month end financial activities. Duties and Responsibilities will include: Purchase ledger processing - Processing of invoices and preparation of payment run for review, remittance advice emails and fielding queries from suppliers Raising sales ledger invoices and supplier statements and contacting customers Processing and tracking purchase orders. Matching delivery notes to invoices Weekly banking processing Bank reconciliations Maintain voucher liability reports and reconcile voucher movement at month end. Assist with producing the balance sheet reconciliations for the month end. Updating of the fixed asset register of the organisation Month end close and support of month end pack preparation Produce reports on gross margin of customers. Produce reports and analysis Ensure all transactions comply with VAT regulations Process payroll transactions and ensure records comply with employment law and regulatory requirements and assisting in the annual reporting Maintain IT master data Updating process notes for financial and administrative processes Recommend improvements to financial accounting and transaction processes of the organisation Office administration, deliveries, answering the phone etc. The successful candidate will ideally have some experience of working in finance and looking to further develop and train within Accountancy and Finance for a fully developed career. Experience of using an accounting package including Excel would be an advantage. Understanding either in practice or theory through study double entry bookkeeping.
