Finance Assistant

Key roles and responsibilities:
To provide financial and administrative support under the direction of the Financial Controller. You will support, manage, and undertake the day-to-day operations of all financial systems, in accordance with practices and procedures of the company.
To ensure that the financial processes of the company meet the highest operational and compliance standards as required by legislation and best practice. You will be supporting the achievement of successful management and sales within the business.
To ensure the efficient, accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions relating to the business, using both manual and computerised systems.
To maintain and develop robust systems of internal financial control appropriate to the needs of the role and the business.
Principal (but not limited to) duties and tasks:
- Processing purchase orders and supplier invoicing
- Creating the payment run for supplier invoices
- Processing and allocating customer receipts
- Processing supplier and customer bank transactions
- Bank reconciliation
- Bookkeeping; Reconciling and updating all ledgers
- Month end journals; accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
- Credit control to include chasing of outstanding debts
- Monthly commission calculations
- Dealing with internal and external accounting queries
- Scanning, filing and logging account documents
- General administration as the business requires
Skills and qualifications:
You’ll need to be a self‐starter, able to prioritise, with an excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrable general accounting and bookkeeping experience
- Thorough attention to detail
- Good maths and Microsoft Excel knowledge e.g., data analysis; filtering/sorting, formulae, and pivot tables
- The ability to use their own initiative
- Customer service skills
- Flexibility and open‐mindedness
- The ability to work in a fast‐paced environment
- The ability to work well with others
- Understanding of how to use common industry software
The role is full-time, 40 hours a week, however we would consider part time, flexible working, dependent on skills and experience for the right applicant. The salary range stated would be pro-rata for part time hours.

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
