Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join their team based in York City Centre.
This is a 6-month fixed-term position with the potential to go permanent, working 30 hours per week. This role is initially office based, a hybrid of home and office work can be agreed after training is completed. The salary is £26,000 per annum, with the opportunity to progress for the right candidate.
This role involves:
- Maintaining the charity’s ledgers, processing all transactions and journals
- To process payments to suppliers and bank cash receipts
- To be a first point of contact for queries from staff, budget holders and suppliers
- Produce sales invoices through the SAGE 50 sales ledger system ensuring correct pricing in a timely manner
- Check the accuracy and completeness of purchase invoices match them to delivery records and orders where applicable and ensure approval by budget holder
- Count, bank and post all cash receipts
You will have:
- Previous experience working in a busy accounts environment
- Recent operational experience of computerised ledger systems
- Strong ICT skills, including word processing and excel
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to use initiative and work with minimal supervision
