Job Purpose
Job title: Finance Assistant
Location: London (City)
Job type: Perm
- Ownership of daily banking duties and filing of supporting documentation
- Management of Accounts Payable processes: organising approvals, filing supporting documentation, processing payments and entering the invoice into account ledger system.
- Management of mortgage completion cycles: main liaison with solicitors, ensuring completed mortgages are exported to correct systems, managing failed cases, ownership of funding data and liaison with funders for urgent approvals.
- Daily checking of the bank accounts and making relevant entries into account ledger systems alongside any relevant notes applicable to other systems.
- Monitoring of the shared finance mailbox alongside other members of the finance team.
- Joint ownership of the finance procedures manual alongside other team members
Key Accountabilities
- Bank monitoring: checking the bank accounts daily and making necessary ledger entries on accounting system and internal systems.
- Banking Duties: daily funder payments to solicitors, inter-account transfers and Invoice payments to suppliers
- Mortgage completion cycle: management of mortgage completions that occur over 3-day cycles. This includes liaising with solicitors and internally within the team alongside potentially seeking approval for urgent cases, from our funders. Completed or failed cases must be correctly managed to ensure accurate reporting across the business.
- Monitoring shared finance mailbox: the shared mailbox includes various types of emails and this will include those related to this role. It is important to ensure emails are monitored and actioned within target SLA of 48 hours.
- Finance procedures manual: ensuring procedure notes related to this role are kept up to date.
- Accounts payable: organising invoice approvals from budget-holders and logging invoices onto account ledger system
