About the Position:

This position is office based in Huntingdon. Periodic travel to our Cambridge office will also be required.

Cambridgeshire Deaf Association is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and self-driven individual to assist our Finance team. This position will be responsible for full financial administration of day to day activities for the charity including both sales and purchase ledger. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is comfortable working to strict deadlines, managing own workload and using own initiative as required. The Finance Assistant will work closely with our Finance Officer to assist in all aspects of the company's financial reporting and reporting procedures. Experience working in a similar role is essential.

Duties:

Purchase ledger: to process supplier invoices ready for bi-monthly payment runs and payment runs preparation, to obtain and process purchase receipts for all bank transactions ready for monthly bank reconciliation; to verify and process staff and volunteer expenses for monthly payment runs

Sales ledger: to raise and submit sales invoices as instructed by CEO/ Finance Officer; to recharge relevant staff expenses to our domiciliary care clients and ensure effective submission for payment; to recharge relevant access to work fees paid to interpreters and ensure effective submission to DWP; sending out debtor statements, reviewing aged debtors and chasing for payment where applicable.

Other: to maintain finance mailbox ensuring all queries are addressed and/or answered in a timely manner; to liaise with external stakeholders where necessary exercising strong customer service skills; to obtain and store all relevant finance documents using Xero accounting software; to adhere to all relevant finance processes and procedures at all times; to exercise upmost care whilst dealing with, often confidential, financial information; any other tasks as set out by the CEO or the Finance Officer

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 21 per week

Salary: £24,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
