About the Role

As a finance and supply chain operations specialist, you will be the key person responsible for managing financial activities and supply chain operations in one of the UK’s most exciting fast-growing startups.

You will work closely with the CEO and with cross-functional teams, including sales, logistics, manufacturing, third party accountant to optimize financial and operational processes and drive efficiency throughout the business. Additionally, you will handle general finance responsibilities to ensure overall financial health and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis of supply chain operations, including cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and revenue growth
  • Supply Chain Planning: Collaborate with supply chain teams to develop financial plans and budgets for procurement, production, inventory management, and distribution. Ensure financial goals align with supply chain objectives and overall business strategy.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control supply chain costs, including material costs, transportation expenses, inventory carrying costs, and overhead expenses. Implement cost-saving initiatives and track cost reduction targets.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks in the supply chain, such as currency exchange rate fluctuations, commodity price volatility, and supplier credit risks. Develop strategies to minimize financial exposure and maintain business continuity.
  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships from a financial perspective. Conduct supplier financial assessments and implement strategies for supplier development, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • General Finance: Payroll, annual returns, quarterly VAT returns, bookkeeping & expenses
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist in financial planning and forecasting processes, including revenue projections, expense budgets, and cash flow management. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the supply chain and finance functions. Develop and implement financial strategies and tools to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, such as operations, sales, and executive management, to align financial objectives with overall business goals. Provide financial guidance and support to drive informed decision-making.


What are we looking for?

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • At least 2 years’ experience in finance, supply chain operations, or ideally a combination of both within a fast-paced multi-responsibility role
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with financial software such as Xero and ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities
