Job description
The Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting annual planning, forecasting, reporting and analytics for our Capital Delivery Business Function; that is managing the delivery of c. £1 billion pounds of Capital Investment on an annual basis, in a highly dynamic and diverse environment. You will be supporting the enhancement of our asset base and service we provide to customers. You will provide advice, guidance and subject matter expertise on all financial reporting matters, preparing monthly financial reports for Senior Leadership and Executives.
This is an interesting and varied role where you will also be developing and implementing analytical standards for reporting and modelling KPIs to enable the business partners to drive added value with their respective business units.
What you will be doing as Finance Analyst
- Supporting the Totex annual budgeting, Integrated Business Plan and quarterly forecasting for each respective Business Unit/Directorate including impact of cashflow performance and Risks and Opportunities.
- Providing high-quality financial information that the business requires to operate effectively and efficiently, including leading and lagging levers, cost drivers, trend analysis, the so what and recommendations to assist decision making.
- Developing and implementing analytical standards for reporting and modelling KPIs with a view to automation.
- As a key financial liaison, partner with the various departments across Finance and the business to deliver End to End process efficiencies and improved financial awareness.
What you should bring to the role
- Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, CHAE or equivalent).
- Excellent knowledge of providing financial insight, preparing annual plans, forecasts.
- Very strong analytical and forecasting abilities.
- Highly effective communication skills (listening and presenting ideas).
- Strong modelling and solid database skills required.
- Experience with planning systems and reporting technology.
- Systems Experience with HFM (desirable)
- SAP knowledge
- Collaborative work style but also take ownership to complete tasks independently
