Job Profile Summary:
This is a 6 month fixed term contract
The role is responsible for supporting the financial control and reporting of the Group and its subsidiaries. The individual will have responsibility for subsidiaries and will assist other members of the team with their work. It is an excellent opportunity for a quick learner who is willing to challenge existing processes.
The role is based in the London financial accounting team who have responsibility for maintaining the accurate accounting books and records for the group’s UK based subsidiaries and a selection of overseas entities. The team is also responsible for legal entity board and statutory reporting, and month end reporting to the group reporting team.
Specific responsibilities
Review the monthly management accounts for all entities within your area of responsibility, ensuring that the general ledger is accurate and complete and that all analytical reviews and balance sheet reconciliations have been completed and reviewed and review points are addressed
Prepare and support the preparation of local GAAP statutory accounts and tax returns for all relevant entities
Preparation of board reporting for legal entities as required
Liaise with auditors and tax advisors, ensuring the delivery of information to support the preparation of local tax returns and other tax filings as required
Execution and ownership of centralised process such as fixed assets or intercompany invoicing and reconciliation
Ongoing liaison with other teams within Finance, including US and Swiss financial accounting, treasury, tax, group reporting and finance business partners to support the delivery of information to and from them in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
Taking a proactive role in improving existing processes
Supporting other Financial Control and Reporting initiatives and projects as required
Key competencies
Experience: Recent university graduate with finance related work experience with exposure to month end close procedures, or part qualified accountant
IT Skills: Must be computer literate with strong excel skills and have the ability to learn new systems. Experience with general ledger systems would be advantageous
Interpersonal: Communication, organisation, and presentation skills together with the ability to confidently deal with multiple stakeholders
Other: Individual should have a pro-active attitude and be able to work within the Legal Entity Control team. A quick learner with attention to detail.
