Finance Analyst – Syston, Leicester (Hybrid Working)
£28,000- £35,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week

The recent acquisition of Protech by Flogas Britain further extends the business’ capabilities in this regard to provide innovative and lower carbon solutions into the commercial sector; combining renewable-ready gas combustion with alternative technologies such as heat-pumps, solar power and electric vehicle charging to provide a complete solution to customers and assisting them on their own path to net zero.
Flogas Britain has revenues in excess of £300 million and employs over 1,300 people across its multi-sited operation across Britain with its headquarters in Syston, Leicestershire. The Flogas Britain Group includes Protech and Medical Gas Solutions.
The Role
The Finance Analyst is responsible for the processing of month end tasks and subsequent reporting. This includes key workings covering a variety of P&L and balance sheet accounts, as well as supporting with preparation of the group consolidation. In addition, assisting the Financial Reporting manager with preparation of management accounts and preparation of the VAT return. The individual in this role will also be able to support Commercial Finance and Operational Finance, outside of the key reporting time periods.
Striving for efficiency and value-added procedures, the successful applicant will be responsible for adhering to tight deadlines, especially at month end. The candidate in this role will show a keen willingness to learn new areas of the P&L and Balance Sheet and quickly apply learning to help with process improvements. The role is suited to an individual who is taking their accounting studies and wants to gain experience across the accounting functions.
The Financial Reporting team are responsible for management and statutory reporting in line with the group’s reporting cycle, and the balance sheet reconciliation process - including provision of detailed and accurate records for all areas of the accounts. Commercial Finance are the custodian of our margin performance, and Operational Finance drive overhead and capex efficiency.
· Prepare various journals and workings at month end, and associated balance sheet reconciliations.
· Taking ownership of key areas of the balance sheet, including provisions and accruals.
· Assist with preparation of management accounts and monthly VAT returns.
· Assist with preparation of the group consolidation.
· Assist with margin and cost reviews.
· Ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
· Assisting with the audit process for interim and year end audits for internal and external auditors.
· Prepare information for half year and full year reporting.
· Implement process improvements as appropriate.
· Work with the wider business to help improve information flow which feeds into the month end process.
· Produce accurate and timely financial and non-financial information linked to sustainability reporting.
· Providing cover to the wider team where appropriate to help extend knowledge and professional development.
· Dealing with ADHOC queries from the wider business relevant to all areas of the accounting function.
· Supporting the FD, Head of Group Finance and Finance Management Team with ADHOC work that arises.
