Finance Administrator
The Role
Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK and to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit a Finance Administrator to join our Finance Team.
Reporting to the Accounting & Financial Processing Manager, the Finance Administrator will be required to help with the processing and maintenance of revenue invoicing. You will have daily communication with customers both internal & external to resolve queries and disputes. This role will have a focus on Billing but will also be cross trained in Cash Management and Accounts Payable.
Key Requirements
· Gather and process all documentation necessary for the prompt and efficient raising of invoices for all group companies.
· Ensure an accurate and regular flow of information when liaising with the relevant terminals and customers.
· Work in line with company policy and compliance procedures when processing.
· Liaise with customers and colleagues over disputed invoices and promptly take measures to solve the query as promptly as possible.
· Assume responsibility for enforcing all special pricing arrangements and maintaining a good knowledge of rates and conditions pertaining to specified customers.
· Assist as required with various Accounts Payable and Cash Management processing tasks including, but not limited to, daily bank reconciliations, processing of expense claims, reconciliation of supplier statements and administration of the Oracle Holds report for all group companies.
Who are we looking for?
Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:
Essential:
· Previous recent experience of working within a finance function
· Good numeracy skills with a proven ability to work with large volume data, with close attention to detail and to pre-prescribed processes as well as ad-hoc projects
· Minimum 3 GCSE (or equivalent) Grades A-C, one of which must be Maths
· Experience with an automated finance package
· A keen learner
· An adaptable, proactive and flexible approach
Desirable:
· A focus on billing, cash management or accounts payable processes
· Previous experience with a shipping/logistics company
· Able to question existing practices and recommend new and improved ways of working thereby acting to support improvement projects.
· Able to manage complex data workflows
