Intern: Finance Accountant (Summer 2023)
We are hiring 5 interns to work in the Finance department for summer 2023. This 12-week internship will provide successful candidates with the opportunity to gain a basic knowledge and understanding of financial processes through hands-on involvement in Aegon UK’s Finance department.

As an accounting intern you’ll get to join one of the following teams for 12 weeks:
  • Financial Reporting – support monthly and quarterly reporting for both IFRS and SII, as well as assist in reconciliations and reporting project tasks.
  • Financial Operations – assist in accounts payable processing and bank reconciliations, alongside a range of other general ledger accounting duties.
  • Financial Controls - perform a range of oversight and assurance activities compliant with relevant regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley and CASS.
  • Investment Administration – process outbound and inbound money movements, tax & regulatory reporting, and help with controls which help protect our customer assets.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Undergraduates currently in their penultimate or final year of a university degree with strong Accounting or Finance content
  • Interest in a career as an Accountant
  • Available full time between June – August 2023
  • Highly motivated, with the drive and stamina to act on your own initiative
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and an analytical approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
You will be required to work 7 hours per day, Monday to Friday at our Edinburgh offices on a competitive hourly rate.
