Job summary

You will provide vital assistance to the Filming and Photography Unit, including acting as the first point of contact and managing promotional filming requests across our estate.

Job description

  • Arrange external promotional filming requests at Historic Environment Scotland sites.
  • Maintain a record of all promotional filming requests by logging all current and future filming activity, which can be months in advance.
  • Organise and plan internal photography and filming requests often several months in advance.
  • Metadata preparation of newly commissioned photography.
  • Licensing images and footage both internally and externally.
  • Ordering images from external image archives.
  • Support the work of the Image Librarian by monitoring and triaging the image enquiries mailbox.
  • Shared responsibility with the Commercial filming team to monitor and triage the filming public enquiries mailbox.
  • Support the work of the photographers/videographers on shoots.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with partner organisations.
  • Compliance with Finance procedures with regards to raising orders, making payments and card transactions for the department.
  • Keeping up to date on current UK Unmanned Aerial Systems guidance and updating the HES Drone Policy accordingly.

Person specification

Essential requirements:

  • Good time management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks to deliver objectives
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, busy environment
  • A good knowledge of various IT packages (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to ensure effective communication with a wide range of contacts both internal and external.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience working with online archives
  • Experience using Photoshop software
