Title Field Team Manager (Smart Metering)
Location London/East Anglia/South East (10% uplift on salary if inside M25)
Reporting To Regional Operations Manager
Role Purpose Accountable for leading and developing a geographical team of Smart Metering Engineers to ensure a safe working culture is promoted, business productivity targets are achieved and client performance and expectations are delivered across the team.
Key Responsibilities
The Field Team Manager will assume full responsibility for their team, the key responsibilities are outlined below;
- Lead and develop a team of Engineers within the allocated geographical area. Identify individual training and development needs within team ensuring they are addressed. Assume full responsibility for the development of individuals and the team as a whole.
- Work closely with the Training, Development and Compliance Team and lead from the front to ensure that a safe working culture is promoted and all personnel within the team work safely and produce compliant work.
- Ensure that all costs are controlled and revenue is maximised per Engineer; specifically ensuring that all Engineers within the team are achieving a minimum level of performance to ensure that business financial targets are achieved.
- Deliver the performance for multiple clients across the allocated geographical area by motivating the Engineers to deliver the client expectations across the team.
- Attend regular review meetings regarding performance. Take accountability for any underperformance by creating an action plan to improve performance to the required levels.
- Motivate the Engineers to deliver the required levels of productivity across the team. Identify areas of underperformance and work closely with the Engineers to improve productivity to the required levels where needed.
- Work closely with all business support functions to ensure optimum levels of performance and productivity across the team.
- Complete regular individual performance reviews and team meetings with the Engineers.
- Work closely with HR to ensure that conduct, capability and sickness issues are identified and addressed appropriately.
- The role will naturally entail a considerable amount of travel and regular staying away from home.
- The above responsibilities are not exhaustive and the position is such that other responsibilities will be expected as part of the role as required.
