Location: South Coast (hybrid 3 days office and 2 days WFH)-

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Salary: £48,000 to £53,000

In this Field Support Manager role, you will be defining strategies to support the implementation of Licence to Operate framework to ensure our operative colleagues’ competencies are continuously monitored, enhanced and supported via coaching, mentoring and training programmes. You will be leading in designing of assessments and training plans for new and existing colleagues to enhance understanding of water treatment and regulation, addressing any knowledge gaps and provide direction for further advancement of skills as part of a continuous competency assessment programme.

The role is primarily field base, giving you the opportunity to continuously monitor standards of performance and relate the formal Competent Operator Training to on site processes to achieve commitment in achieving regulatory standards and evidenced in the field. You will work alongside the Operational Performance and Governance Manager to ensure that assessments and training are aligned, effective and kept relevant. You will support in building knowledge to operate new assets, ensure they integrate with existing plant and process and incorporate operating procedures for them in the Site Operating Manual (SOM). You will develop relevant frameworks to ensure seamless communication of information is available at all times to support the broader team development needs.

In this brand new role, reporting to the Head of Water Resources & Production, you will be managing three Field Support Leads and supporting 8 Field Performance Managers, 4 Technical Coordinators and 20 Operators in the East or West of the Southern region. This is an exciting initiative as the role creates framework around the formal Competent Operator Training, ensuring that knowledge learnt in the classroom is successfully transferred to the workplace setting for new and existing operative colleagues.

To be successful in this role, you will have a solid knowledge and exposure to operation of sites with a good background of line management skills within a process orientated environment (water supply, oil, gas, utilities). With a strong coaching and mentoring skills, you will be a confident communicator at all levels to achieve a highly competent operational team. You will be competent user of MS Office packages to support you in designing and delivering appropriate training and assessment materials. Passion for people and a honed ability to lead diverse field operators and working collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders is key to drive the capabilities and competencies of our team to our regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
