Hawk Contracting Group, LLC is a CVE Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), founded in 2007. We are a multi-disciplined general contractor and self-perform many activities on federal contracts. We currently have an opening for a Field Site Manager in the Palo Alto area of California and surrounding areas to oversee FEDERAL Government projects primarily at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals.
Job Summary:
Hawk Contracting Group is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Field Site Manager position based in the Palo Alto area of California. The Field Site Manager will support the Project Manager and Superintendent with monitoring new construction and renovations in VA Medical Facilities throughout the area.
Responsibilities
- The Field Site Manager is responsible for ensuring work is performed according to company standards and project specifications.
- Responsible for overall layout, productivity, safety, quality control, labor costs, scheduling, movement of manpower, procurement of materials, subcontractor management and any other activity that would impact the successful completion of the project.
- Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location.
- Assist PM with project scheduling, change orders, submittals, RFI’s, punch list, drawing management, etc.
- Work with the project team to support each subcontractor to ensure that they execute their job duties effectively and efficiently.
- Document all job activity that took place at the job site and ensure that we are maintaining an accurate reflection of the daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe jobsite always.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience/knowledge of medical/healthcare facility as a Field Site Manager/Superintendent in a similar role as that identified above.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management or 2-5 years of FEDERAL jobsite construction experience
- Minimum project size $5m single project experience.
- Excellent organization and communication skills (verbal and written), time and cost management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word), Bluebeam, Procore.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, maintain a professional demeanor, and demonstrate leadership and project success.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and help develop and adhere to schedules.
- Ability to coordinate personnel, subcontractors, manage crew, and other resources.
- Dependable and self-motivated.
- Ability to document and communicate project progress clearly and concisely.
- Ability to estimate construction projects.
- Physical capabilities to work in the field under various conditions and overall awareness of your surroundings.
- Clean driving record required.
- OSHA 30-hour certificate required for this position (OSHA 30-hour training will be provided if candidate does not possess)
- Ability to gain federal base access.
- Valid Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination required at time of hire.

- Salary will be based on experience and education. Salary Range $125,000 to 150,000
