Based either in Poole, Dorset or London, we have a great opportunity for someone skilled in understanding the question in order to provide the report or data to answer it. We use several Traffic Management systems that rely heavily on the use and processing of large volumes of data so we need a data driven and analytical person to join the MIS team, to deliver a reporting solution to our customers’ requirements whilst maintaining a high level of service.
What will you do?
- Development of reporting, dashboards and data analysis in various tools including Power BI
- Deployment of new or updated reports to the relevant SQL Server Reporting Services
- Writing or updating of SQL Stored procedures for reporting queries
- Maintain source code and projects of the developed reports including update of documentation
- Report automation and scheduling on report manager including emailing subscriptions
- Collecting or connecting to data sources for investigations, based on incident management, problem management and change management requirements
- Ensure minimum standards are met and report anomalies to incident problem and change managers
- Ensure reports are delivered on time and correct to the customer and support any issue resolution
- Internal reports to be run daily to ensure managers can access the reports for their teams
Who are you?
- You enjoy working with complex data and have strong reporting skills
- You’re confident working with Power BI including dynamic row level security
- You’ve worked in a MS SQL environment, especially within an Azure or AWS virtual server
- You’re confident work on SQL Server Reporting Services, Excel including VBA and other reporting software
- You’re able to communicate with all colleagues and customers to understand report requirements and produce end results to their satisfaction
- You enjoy problem solving, managing your own time well and meeting deadlines
- You have a high attention to detail and can spot errors when they occur
- Ideally you also have working knowledge of data warehouses and data lakes
