Service Engineer, Salary £30K,Company van (plus fuel card), laptop, Tools, Mobile phone, 7.30am – 4pm Monday to Friday, No weekend working, Permanent position 30 days holiday
Location of the Service Engineer position: Brighouse and Rochdale
Primarily based in Brighouse you will be working in busy vehicle coach building factories installing modular wheelchair lifts to mini and midi buses. The lifts are provided completely assembled, your task is to install voltage cables and handset wirings, bolt the lift cassette to the underside of the chassis, fully weight test the lift and finally adjust to ensure correct installation. In addition to lift installation, you will also be tasked with providing lift service and breakdown cover in the immediate area.
The role would suit a Vehicle Technician that may be looking for something different or Engineer that have a mechanical and electrical background.
Duties of the Service Engineer position:
- Collect lift kit from goods in, and inspect all parts.
- Liaise with workshop staff to schedule correct vehicles in which order.
- Install battery cable to power the lift.
- Complete lift installation
- Adjust and set the lift correctly to vehicle.
- Weight test the lift and LOLER certify. (full training given)
- Service and maintain lifts on behalf of the Company
- Keep all records and provide copies to main factory.
- Conduct industry leading H&S at all times
Attributes of the Service Engineer position
- Must be self-motivated
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience working on motor vehicles.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrics
