Location: Home-based (Stevenage and 30 mile radius)

Salary: Starting from £36k plus overtime

About Jenoptik

Jenoptik develops, manufactures and distributes components, systems and services which contribute towards greater road traffic safety throughout the world. The product portfolio comprises comprehensive systems relating to all aspects of road traffic, such as speed enforcement and red light enforcement systems, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) products and systems for the detection of traffic violations.

We have now an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Field Service Team within the company.

Key Duties

Management and Planning

  • Under the guidance of the FOM support the design, configuration, and Installation of new projects.
  • Provide pre-technical support to sales, activities could include site surveys, solution design, customer meetings, job costing, and negotiations with third parties.
  • Assisting with the installation of equipment on site
  • Undertake field service tasks and maintenance activities i.e. calibrations, annual maintenance, and service.
  • Ensure that faults are resolved within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) and that the customer is regularly updated re progress.
  • Ensure that assets are registered on the system and that asset status is correctly reported within the service management system
  • Ensure that faults are correctly recorded against assets
  • Ensure that work order are completed within the agreed target SLA and that Field Service Reports (FSR’s) are completed within service management system
  • Working with Account Management assist in managing the relationship with the customer to maintain a positive and professional image of Jenoptik
  • Comply to company policies and procedures and follow the procedures as defined within the companies Quality Management System (QEMS) i.e. returns, stock management, incident reporting and updates, system calibrations, and risk assessments.
  • Supervision of third party contractors on-site
  • Return of faulty equipment service
  • Liaising with product engineering to feed back any fault, product enhancements, and design concerns to engineering
  • Action work tasks via service management tool

Administrative

  • Recording of working time within the timesheet system
  • Documentation of site surveys
  • Production and review of technical specifications
  • Production of calibration certificates and site specific data files.

Customer Relationship

  • Maintain a positive and professional image of Jenoptik when dealing with customers and third parties
  • Capable of clearly communicating technical subjects
  • Needs to demonstrate patience and understanding and show an aptitude for training / transferring technical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for negotiating and the management of third

Key Qualifications

  • Planning and Organisation [Essential].
  • Methodical work based approach [Essential].
  • Proven track record of establishing good working relationships with customers and other professionals [Essential].
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety and its application to Highways environments [Essential].
  • Highways experience [Desirable]
  • Some experience of camera based speed enforcement solutions and ANPR technologies [Desirable].
  • Sound understanding of TCP/IP networking technologies including 3G/4G, wireless, routing, and fiber optics. [Desirable].
  • Full UK Driving Licence [Essential]
