Job Description:

We are recruiting experienced Fibre Engineers & Splicers in the Exmouth area.

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing company where you can progress your career into Supervision and Management.

Your role will be splicing and testing fibre optic cables to expand the FTTH network into new areas or to upgrade existing lines.

You will also, troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve any potential issues.

Experience in PIA or working on the Virgin Media or BT network with an Installation, or service background would be preferred.

Salary up to £35k, great company benefits and excellent career progression.

The main duties include the responsibility for the following:

  • Building a new FTTH fibre network.
  • Reading and working with fibre schematics and straight-line drawings.
  • Installation of ODF rack equipment.
  • Preparing and Splicing distribution cables into ODF.
  • Preparing/splicing cables up to 576F (ribbon and single) into various size enclosures overhead and underground.
  • Preparation of all cables and correct labelling at all points of intervention.
  • Fibre testing end to end (Bidirectional) using OTDR/iOLM, PON tester and be able to diagnose / fix any faults found.
  • Blowing in the cables when required.
  • Audit completed works.

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following skills & qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ Telecoms experience.
  • Relevant Fibre Accreditations.
  • NRSWA Signing Lighting and Guarding.
  • Positive can-do personality.
  • Capability to work without supervision.
  • A good communicator.
  • Someone who has attention to details and pride in their work.
  • Someone who is able to work safely at all times.
  • Good time management.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points)
