ExxonMobil has operated in the U.K. for more than 135 years. We are best known today for the marketing of our Esso fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants and for our petrochemicals. We have refining and chemical operations in the UK, we operate the UK’s biggest private pipeline network and we retain a non-operated share in a number of fields in the North Sea. Their focus is on safety, health and the environment, ensuring reliability and operational integrity, while always seeking new ways to improve equipment and systems’ performance.

What role you will play in our team
We are currently seeking talented, experienced Process Technicians to join our team at the Company's Fife Ethylene Plant (FEP).
One of Europe’s largest and most modern ethylene plants, FEP provides work for around 170 employees and 80 core contractors and has capacity to produce 830,000 tonnes of ethylene each year.
If you have a ‘can do’ attitude, a second-to-none work ethic, and you have relevant experience within the petrochemical, oil, gas, utilities, or other heavy process industries, we would like to hear from you!
What you will do
Operating plant equipment including running the plant safely, efficiently and economically- Monitoring the operation and diagnosing faults, carrying out planned and unplanned start-ups and shutdowns of plant
- Monitoring and operating the plant from the Central Control Room
- Responding to incidents, hazardous conditions, or emergencies
- Routine care of the operating equipment to maximise equipment reliability and minimising plant outages
- Safely preparing plant equipment for maintenance activities
- Working within the shift to ensure delivery of individual and team responsibilities and objectives
- Providing input and support to margin improvement and cost reduction initiatives

Monitoring and adjusting the operation during shift is a key part of the job; in part this is done in the control room, but the Technician is also required to access all parts of the plant to make any necessary physical adjustments.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
As a minimum, a good general education to Standard/O Grades 1-3 (or equivalent Nationals 5 A-C/GCSE A-C or 9 - 4), including English, Mathematics, one science and one technical subject. Unfortunately, National 4 level is not sufficient.- Ideally candidates will have some experience in operations or maintenance, preferably in oil and gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals or the broader energy industry. Experience of mechanical, electrical or process equipment would be advantageous, as would some maintenance skills.
