Job description
Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a complexed young girl aged 14 with Cerebral Palsy, Registered Blind, Gastrostomy tube TPN Fed, Oxygen overnight, non-verbal and epilepsy (seizure management plan will be provided) living in the Rutherglen area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, including attending to personal care.
Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
- Attending to all personal care needs (toileting including bowel movements)
- Assisting with medication (training will be provided)
- Moving and assisting (experience with moving and assisting essential) - pushing manual wheelchair, using manual hoist/tracking hoist
- Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a cat in the home.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and previous experience working with disabilities and complex needs is preferred.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for one position.
Guaranteed permanent position of 10 hours per week
Days and times:
Term time - 2pm-6pm on one week day (day to be discussed at interview)
Non term time - day and time negotiable (to be discussed at interview)
Plus every Saturday or Sunday for 6 hours
Finish time no later than 7pm
Hourly rate:
£12 per hour
