This role
We have full time positions in Ashington. We are looking for people to join our permanent team here, to build professional relationships with the people we support in order to deliver the highest quality care.
What we are looking for in you
We are looking for an outgoing, confident person who has an interest in shopping, art and crafts and day trips out. The role will be to support V, a young female who is moving towards independence and has a life plan with exciting opportunities. A good understanding of autism, mental health and trauma would be desirable.
The person we support requires help with planning day to day routines attending regular medical appointment
This will include developing community links and relationships, volunteering opportunities and life skills. If you have experience in a care or support role, this is a benefit, but we will also provide training to people new to a career in social care.
You will need basic IT skills, and we will provide the required training to support you in role.
What would you be doing?
As a Support Worker you would have a varied role, supporting individuals with a range of disabilities. You would be responsible for:
- Encouraging independence
- Supporting people to participate in hobbies, activities and the community
- Supporting people to manage their health needs and liaising with health professionals.
- Supporting people to manage their own homes.
- Developing the life skills of the people we support
- Assisting with personal finances
- Support with personal hygiene
- Supporting with medication
- Providing advice and problem solving when required.
