Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a person with Physical Disabilities living in the Larkhall area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
- Attending to some care needs (aiding into & out shower, washing below knee level, washing & drying hair when required)
- Assisting with medication, when required
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks
- Assisting with participation in upper body exercise activities
- Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair
- Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver essential, you will be required to drive employer’s automatic vehicle.
The role requires some personal contact with an individual who is vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are gardening, swimming, adapted sports, music, local carers groups and socialising with friends.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a Westie Dog in the home.
Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature, a desire to work within a caring role and basic Autism Awareness; an Autistic Person with sensory processing difficulties lives within the home.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for 1 position.
Guaranteed permanent position of 12hrs per week
Days and times:
Set shifts at set times
Typically - Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 9am – 12pm
Occasional weekends and evenings may be required – to be discussed at interview
Hourly rate:
£10.50 per hour
