Job description
As an Officer in the Yorkshire FCRM (Flood and Coastal Risk Management) Programme Team you will be at the heart of our work. We bring together information on projects across the county, monitoring progress, forecasting trends, preparing reports and presenting information to senior managers and to the Yorkshire Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
Attention to detail and confidence working with data and documents is essential, and you will be ready to build and maintain relationships with people in teams across the Environment Agency and at other Authorities.
As responding to incidents is a central part of what we do, you will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- Enthusiasm to work as part of a small team, managing your own workload whilst sharing and supporting tasks as required to ensure resilience across the group
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical work approach
- A proven ability to develop and maintain good relationships with a variety of customers
- The ability to collate and check large documents and datasets in Microsoft Office
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands, with an appreciation of how to manage risk and when to escalate and share problems
In this entry level position, the key things we’re looking for are transferrable skills and capabilities. If you have an enthusiasm for the work of the Environment Agency, please do not be put off applying if you don’t have a degree or you don’t have sector related experience.
Everyone starting in a new role with the Environment Agency will be welcomed into the team and given all of the training and support you need to succeed.
There are also fully funded opportunities to develop further academic/professional qualifications.
The Environment Agency offer an extensive range of employee benefits
