Bath & North East Somerset Council
Full Time Bath, England 27344 - 29439 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Service Area: Heritage Services

Department: Sustainable Communities

Bath & North East Somerset lies between the Cotswold and Mendip areas of outstanding natural beauty. The city of Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built around Britain’s only thermal springs.

Heritage Services runs the Roman Baths & Pump Room, the Fashion Museum, Victoria Art Gallery, and Bath Record Office. The collections at the Roman Baths, Fashion Museum and Bath Record Office are Designated by government as being nationally / internationally important.

It’s an exciting time in the history of the Fashion Museum, as the service undertakes a major project to relocate the word class collection within the city centre.

As Fashion Museum Documentation Manager, you will have the opportunity to influence the new museum, and the planned collection study centre at Locksbrook, helping to make both must-visit destinations. You will be part of a small team working to improve the data and accessibility of information about this world-class collection of fashionable dress, feeding in to both the pre and post opening programmes.

Are you a database and systems person with proven experience of working with collections management systems in a museum context? And a passion to order information so that we can share fashion stories with a wide and diverse audience? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Closing date: Thursday 15 June
