THE ROLE

The Fashion Design Manager will manage, lead, and support our design team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Range Planning
Liaise with Buying and Creative Directors to:
· Develop range plans and creative concepts
· Monitor product performance and use data to direct future developments.
· Aid in developing the design growth strategy and sales plan in line with the Critical Path.
Team Management
· Inspire, motivate and lead the Design team in successfully designing and developing multiple products throughout each season.
· Develop and manage KPIs for the design department and the designers individually.
· Ensure effective working practices are present, having an acute awareness of the Critical Path at all times.
· Work with management to help strategise and improve the design department. Introducing and improving working practices across the team.
Design / Production Awareness
· Oversee the submission of designs to Buying / Directors: Communicate rationale, method and fabrication.
· Working with Product Tech to deliver an excellent technical knowledge; to ensure fabrics / trims and blocks selected are suitable to the project, on brand, the best quality for the price bracket.
· Liaise with suppliers effectively to maintain current relationships.
· Have an expert awareness of the current production capabilities and limitations to ensure design is executed in a realistic output and timeframe.
· Working alongside Buying and Production departments to ensure costs are closely monitored and projects are delivered within budget parameters.
· Show a keen understanding of price architecture, margins and market pricing.
· Creation of product specification and technical packs: help improvethe quality of output across the range.
· Working with Product Tech to lead garment fit sessions and sample amendments:
help improve the quality of output across the range.
· Factory visits and fabric sourcing trips.
· Liaise with other creative teams within the company for marketing purposes.
· Additional duties – as required.

THE PERSON
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for what Disturbia is aiming to achieve as an organisation and the ability to be decisive, open and specific, whilst promoting acceptance, inclusion and respect.

They should be a fast learner and be dynamic in their approach as they will need to react quickly to ever changing environments.

Finally, they will be charismatic and confident, happy interacting with different audiences and peers.

REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
· Fashion Design Degree or similar.
· Previous Management experience.
· An excellent technical understanding of garment design, fabrication and fit.· Excellent knowledge of our market sector.
· Strong CAD, excellent Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
· Strong, clear and competent communication skills.
· High level of competency with reporting platforms and spreadsheets.
· Confidence, self motivation and tenacity.
· Meticulous attention to detail.
· Team leader skills.
Graphic design interest and experience a bonus
