The Role
Vogue is looking for a fashion and beauty writer who can swiftly register breaking news and capture the conversation beyond the headlines. The candidate will work cross-platform, but with a daily focus on digital. They must have a keen ability to pinpoint global trending topics and identify the Vogue angle while driving the cultural conversation forward.
The candidate must be self-directed and have the ability to write stories that feel unique and of-the-moment. The role will require the writer to pitch and produce timely news stories, as well as longer-lead features. This role will also assist in sourcing and identifying freelance contributors and angles for staff writers to explore.
Role reports into the Editor, Vogue.com.
What will you be doing?
- Identify and write news stories with a Vogue angle
- Ability to ideate across platform, such as short-form and social video
- Assist in identifying new contributors and voices to help expand Vogue's reach
- Conceptualize and execute original features and portfolios (photo essays, first-person stories, etc)
- Collaborate on print—ideation, assignments, and personal/literary essays especially
Who you are:
- At least 4 years of writing experience
- Ability to write flawless copy on deadline in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using content management systems and social media platforms
- Knowledge of relevant celebrities and influencers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Where will you be?
- We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in our iconic Vogue House building, situated in the heart of Mayfair. This is where our award-winning Editorial and Content teams sit.
