An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our farm team. Sharnfold Farm is an open farm, welcoming the public throughout the year. Offering seasonal events, farm walk, pick your own and much more.
We are looking for a farm worker who can share our passion for making our farm the best it can be for our visitors. We are a popular attraction just outside of Eastbourne and welcome the public to come and enjoy our farm throughout the year. The job includes a variety of tasks, meaning that often no two days are the same.
The role will include a broad range of duties, both in helping to maintain and grow the farm as a popular visitor attraction as well as contributing towards the growing of a variety of crops including pumpkins and strawberries.
Key tasks will include:
· Carrying out general farm maintenance including strimming, hedge cutting, fencing and mowing, and tractor driving.
· Feeding and mucking out of livestock.
· Completing regular safety checks of play equipment and farm trail.
· Assisting with the growing of crops including planting and harvesting of strawberries and pumpkins.
On such a unique and diverse farm, we don't expect you to know everything but the enthusiasm to learn new skills is key. Some experience of outdoor work is an advantage but not essential. Applicants should be enthusiastic and self motivated, able to work on their own as well as part of a team in all weathers throughout the year.
Driving of farm vehicles would be necessary to complete tasks and therefore a full, valid, UK Drivers licence is required for this role.
The successful applicant will be required to work 40 hours a week, between Sunday and Thursday.
