Job description
Due to recent growth within the business, we are looking for several staff to work on our farms and processing plant, with progression into management for suitable candidates.
We are offering a varied role, which will offer suitable candidates a career within Kelly Turkeys. As a family run business all staff have a can do attitude, which leads to all roles being very varied and challenging, which enables us to produce, what is often regarded as the best Turkey in Great Britain.
The role will be split into two parts, from January to July you will be required to work on our farms supporting the farm manager in the day to day running of the farm, maintaining accurate on farm records and ensuring the welfare of the birds at all times.
From August to December you will be working within our turkey processing plant, harvesting and packing top quality turkeys.
The hours would be 7am till 4pm but there is a need to be flexible at certain times, any hours worked over 45 hours will be accrued in lieu. Extra hours during Christmas processing will be paid as single rate overtime. There will be weekend work.
We will provide all training that is required, to ensure you progress within the business as far as you can
What we require from you:
Previous experience working within the agricultural sector would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided, with the aim to progress and develop your career within the business.
A can-do attitude and willingness to help within all departments and all our local sites
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Organised and conscientious approach to tasks – we take great pride in our products and will expect you to do the same.
Ability to use a computer – basic skills, more training can be given.
Full driving licence. A fork lift licence is a bonus.
A certain amount of flexibility with regard to working hours and weekend work.
