Stonehurst farm shop is an important part of our diversified family farming business. Centred around selling home grown and local produce including bread from our on-farm organic bakery, the shop and kiosk also provide the entrance for customers and families visiting our farm visitor attraction and motor museum.
The role
A dual role, one being hands-on serving customers, greeting farm visitors and maintaining attractive displays and stock level. With time also set aside for placing product orders and maintaining stock control, setting prices to maximise profit while offering value to our customers, sourcing product ranges, contributing to our marketing and social media presence, organising junior staff-rota and training to maintain excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will:
· Have a bright and friendly personality and enjoy engaging with customers and staff.
· Have experience in retail / purchasing / stock control.
· Be organised, reliable, and clean and tidy in the workplace.
· Have an eye for detail in all aspects of work.
· Have a passion for great food with provenance.
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to take the farm shop forwards, helping with the future development and expansion of this well-established business. Working in partnership with the farm, the tearooms and John’s House restaurant.
Our offer:
Salary from £12.50 per hour, with higher rates available depending on experience and performance. You will also be part of our friendly team, established in 1951 and now part of the local community providing a great visitor experience, home grown produce from the farm and Leicestershire’s only Michelin star dining experience.
