The butchers and delicatessen are what we are famous for. Sourcing much of our meat and cheese locally, we are a traditional butchers with a modern twist. We make all our own sausages, burgers and pies, cure our own bacon and produce a range of easy meals.
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Farm Shop Retail Sales Assistant to join our busy Butchery and Deli team. This is a permanent part time role with sociable hours. Great attitude is the main skill we look for.
Training/up skilling will be given and we offer the opportunity to gain a formal qualification or apprenticeship.
Hours for the role:
- 3-4 days per week including every other weekend by rota, sociable hours between 8am-5pm. Our day is 8-9 hours long, we open Tuesday to Sunday.
- Extra hours will be required at busy times, Christmas and holiday cover.
Working within our Butchers and Deli team you will:
- Be customer focused, providing outstanding service as you assist our customers with their choices at the counter.
- Prepare, make and pack products according to recipes and portion control for retail sale.
- Ensure our counter is always well stocked and immaculately presented and promote our product range with enthusiasm.
- Ensure the work area is kept exceptionally clean and tidy and complies with company hygiene policy.
- PLEASE NOTE: AS WE HAVE SKILLED BUTCHERS ON SITE, KNOWLEDGE OF MEAT CUTS AND BUTCHERY ARE NOT ESSENTIAL WHEN APPLYING FOR THIS ROLE.
Our ideal candidate for Farm Shop Retail Sales Assistant:
- At least 1 years experience of working with fresh food in a retail, hospitality, catering, deli or butchery environment.
- An excellent communicator, strong team player, eager to learn, honest and hardworking and be able to work on your own initiative.
- An enthusiastic and flexible approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude and good work ethic, you will be organised and take pride in your work.
- You will not mind handling raw meat.
- YOUR OWN TRANSPORT IS VITAL DUE TO OUR RURAL LOCATION.

The role has become available as our current Fresh Food Sales Assistant is now training with us as a fulltime butcher.
