Job description
*We have trained our newest recruits and we are ready to take on some more workers for our busy farms*
We are a family run pig breeding unit in Berwick upon Tweed with over 20 staff members. Permanent Position. Job Details: Farm labourers/ Outdoor Pig Stockmen required with free accommodation available if required.

*Stock/ farm experience is preferred, but not essential. If you are willing to work the hours required, outdoors in all weathers, and you have respect for animal welfare, we will be able to provide full training for the role.
*Full time working an average of approx. 55-60 hours per week. You will be required to work Mon-Fri, weekend mornings every other week, and some night checks (see below) *Lots of overtime is available if required
*Pay= £41,194.40 per year on average 60hr week (without accommodation). Annual salary varies, depending on hours worked and if you require accommodation. *Pay includes a weekly bonus of £40 if you do not require our accommodation
*28 days paid annual leave per year, paid as an average of your daily earnings- with overtime taken into account(e.g. if you work an average 55hr week this is what you will be paid when on holiday). *Weaning bonuses available *Annual clothing allowance
*Access to a confidential staff well being service for all staff and their families
*Majority of work is outdoors, in all weathers
*Duties include looking after breeding sows and their piglets (such as serving, farrowing and bedding) and operating machinery/tractors, etc.
*Early morning starts are necessary
*Personal qualities required: hard-working, enthusiastic, positive, motivated, good team-workers, be able to speak basic English, have a good level of fitness/health (this is a physically demanding, although rewarding, role)
*Must have Full UK Driving Licence
*Expected to work 6am Monday-Friday (leaving time between 3pm and 5pm, depending on work) and 6am-midday every other weekend. *You will be required to do a week of 'night checks' every 1 in 10 weeks (to be discussed further, but this involves coming out to the farm at night for an hour or two to check on the farrowing pigs). You will be paid travel payment for these if you live away from the farm.
