Job description

We are seeking two great Farm & Attraction Workers with an engaging and friendly personality to join our team working on the farm at The Rare Breeds Centre.

As a Farm & Attraction Worker you will:

  • Undertake general farm work
  • Ensure the wellbeing of livestock
  • Maintain animal enclosures
  • Assist with providing the daily visitor events
  • Support the smooth and safe running of the Rare Breeds Centre as a farm, visitor attraction and life skills provider
  • Drive farm vehicles including a tractor with ancillary attachments

These Farm & Attraction Worker roles are being offered on a temporary seasonal contract from July to September. The hours are 37.5 per week on a rota basis. Due to our rural location you will need your own transport.

As a Farm & Attraction Worker you will ideally have:

  • One years' practical knowledge and experience of working with and handling a range of small and large livestock
  • Experience of driving tractors and ancillary attachments
  • Competent in the use of hand tools and farm machinery
  • Experience of working with/alongside adults with learning disabilities
  • A friendly and engaging personality with excellent customer service skills
  • A full UK (Manual) driving licence and be aged 21 or over

The Rare Breeds Centre and Canterbury Oast Trust:

Canterbury Oast Trust owns and runs the Rare Breeds Centre, a busy tourist farm attraction with more than 130,000 visitors a year.

The Farm is a great day out to see traditional rare breed animals, play in the parks, and ride on the tractor.

All appointments are subject to pre-employment checks including:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
  • An enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service
  • Two satisfactory references (one of which must be from your current or most recent employer)
  • A full and detailed employment history
  • A full manual driving licence; Aged 21 or over (insurance purposes)
