Job description

Have you thought about working for CAMHS and have a passion for young people’s mental health? Working in a very friendly, dynamic and supportive CAMHS, we have an exciting opportunity for a Family Therapist to join an established and successful Children's Eating Disorder Team.

This could be suitable for an established Family Therapist or a newly or soon to be qualified Therapist. You will have the support of an experienced Eating Disorders team, be offered specific further training in the clinical area and have the support of an experienced Family Therapist who works within CAMHS.

We really want to hear from you. It is an exciting time for the service as we grow and expand our offer to the young people and families of North Derbyshire. Working alongside an already well established team we have a well-developed clinical supervision and training programme.

Our workforce comes from various professional backgrounds and there are opportunities for building up professional networks within the service. We value the diversity of our clinicians and the different skill sets that they bring with them. We offer flexible working, and have special leave and staff support policy in place.

You will be an active member of the Children's Eating Disorder's (CED) Team. Your role will include:

  • Support the CED with systemic formulation and thinking.
  • Offer family therapy to young people and their families within CED.
  • Contributing to case discussions and a team approach to formulation that follows NICE guidelines
With abundant countryside, lovely views, beautiful landscaping and outdoor gym- it's easy to access green space at break times which offers an opportunity to de-stress.

Our new building, which is close by, is located in a historic market town and on the doorstep of Sheffield, a vibrant, multi-cultural/cosmopolitan city.

Both sites are easily accessible from the M1 and the A61 and the local train station is nearby.

All our teams have excellent track records and you will have the support of colleagues from a variety of disciplines across CAMHS. We are able to support the post holder with a variety of CPD opportunities, particularly with NICE informed interventions for CED.

To work within the Children's Eating Disorder Team across North Derbyshire:
  • Contribute to systemic assessments, formulations and interventions within CED.
  • Offer family therapy to young people and their families within CED.
  • Contribute to case discussions and a team approach to formulation that follows NICE guidelines.
You will work across our geographical area of North Derbyshire and the High Peak from our main base in Chesterfield; a car driver with a full current licence & own transport is therefore essential. For disabled applicants; suitable alternative arrangements may be agreed, if necessary.
